International Relations

International Affiliations

Members may not be aware that for many years the Norwich City Unison branch has affiliated itself to a number of external organisations working internationally.

These are international causes that Unison supports and also those that the local branch has chosen to contribute towards, both financially and otherwise.

The full list of affiliations is listed below, along with descriptions and links to organisation websites for more information.

UNISON Internationally

internationalBranch International Relations Officer, Julie Bromley, tells about the work UNISON does with sister unions across the world:

“I have been impressed by Unison’s international work enabling people to campaign for workers rights, often carried out under very difficult circumstances – it is illegal to be a member of a union in some countries.

International Relations Officer

My name is Julie Bromley and I am Unison Norwich City Branch’s International Relations Officer (BIRO !), and also a Neighbourhood Housing Officer.  I have been doing this for a few months now and find it fascinating and very rewarding to be involved in the amazing work which is carried out by Unison all over the world.

UNISON supports the development of workers rights wherever the help and support is needed.  In some countries people are imprisoned or killed for belonging to or running a union.
