2007 Pay Claim Concluded

Members vote NO to strike action
The 2007 pay claim has ended with disappointing results - however UNISON has issued a warning for employers that the issue will not go away.
Although the majority of members voted for industrial action, a low turn out has meant accepting the last 2007 offer.
This comprised of an:
- increase of 2.475% on scale points 5 - 49 with no staging
- increase of 3.4% on scale point 4 to give a minimum of £6 per hour
- joint proposal to "review the way that local government pays and rewards it's workforce, with nothing ruled in and nothing ruled out"
Work is now starting on the 2008 pay claim based on securing fair pay and conditions.
