National Delegate Conference 2009

This week more than 3000 Unison delegates will convene in Brighton for the National Delegate Conference.  As a member-led organisation this is where Unison members from across the country are involved in making Unison policy.

Every branch has a number of delegations to conference, and this year Julie Bromley and Neil Wright are attending for Norwich City Branch.  Kevin O'Grady is also attending in his capacity as the regional member of the Standing Orders Committee, which organises the conference and ensures motions submitted adhere to Unison rules.  We hope to have reports from our delegates on items from conference throughout the week, and will provide a summary of feedback when the week is over.

Delegates will vote on hundreds of motions submitted in the run-up to the event on issues such as the economic crisis, equal pay and pensions.

In addition to the national conference, the week also hosts sector specific conferences, including one for local government from 14 to 16 June.
