ACAS Arbitration Process Underway

At last we have news on the pay issues for 2008/9 and the extended pay battle that we thought was near to an end in September looks to be nearing conclusion soon.
The employers and trade unions had agreed to refer the pay claim to ACAS and had also agreed a terms of reference at that time. The employers side then changed those terms of reference and the trade unions agreed in an effort to get this issue sorted as soon as possible.
Confirmation has been received of the ACAS timetable:
- Written submissions from both sides have to be submitted by 2 February 2009
- The panel will meet on 10 February to hear oral evidence from both sides
The trade union side submission is currently being drafted and when completed we will post the information on this site.
