If so you could become a Union Learning Representative (ULR). You will receive the necessary training and get paid time of work to become a ULR.

This will enable you to help raise the profile and promote the value of training and development in the workplace by providing information and advice about a range of learning initiatives.

• Encourage members and potential members into learning for their personal development 
• Work with the branch to negotiate learning partnerships with employers covering issues such as time off for learning 
• Encourage new learners to get involved in UNISON and help branches develop and organise
